Mrs. Waider in Second Grade
Guess what? I was in second grade too! I was in second grade in 1985. Do you know how many years ago that was?
I was born and raised close to here, in Rapid City. You've probably been there before. I went to St. Elizabeth Seton School from Kindergarten to eighth grade. I then went to St. Thomas Moore High School and graduated from there in 1996. I went to college at Black Hills State University. I graduated from there in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Middle School Education.
This is my 10th year of teaching! I taught 3rd and 4th grade at Whitewood Elementary and now I teach 2nd grade right here at Stagebarn Elementary. Teaching 2nd grade is my favorite! I am super excited for this year.
I will have been married for four years in October. My husband, Adam, teaches computers at Sturgis Elementary. Adam's family lives in Colorado. That is where he's from. We spend lots of time with his dad, Mark, and his girlfriend Mary. We don't have any kids yet, but we have a dog, named Mia, and two cats, Boo and Super Kitty. My parents live in Rapid City, and you will all have the chance to meet them. My mom, Nancy and dad, Mike are very involved in our classroom special events and I know that you will all love them! I appreciate their involvement. I have a younger brother, Kelly, who is married to April. They have a little boy named Vern, who is my nephew. That makes me Aunt Mrs. Waider! Isn't that exciting? Kelly, a.k.a. Mr. Halter also teaches at Stagebarn. I have a younger sister who is also my school neighbor. You guessed it! My little sister is Mrs. Harrington, the third grade teacher at Stagebarn! We have always wanted to teach together so we are very excited for this opportunity. Mrs. Harrington is married to Rob. They have two dogs, Ruby and Farley.
I have a huge extended family with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins! We all have so much fun when we get together!
